Homegrown Banking that's Safe, Innovative and Focused on You
Started here. Staying here.
Bank history is usually little more than a timeline of acquisitions
and mergers. But ours really is different - and we think you'll
find it worth the mention.
In 1945, a group of area farmers wanted to make sure they always
had access to credit. They believed local folks understood them
best, and were perfectly capable of making sound financial decisions.
Plus, local people had a vested interest in the farmers' success.
Area business owners felt the same way. So they opened Farmers &
Merchants Bank. 60 years later we still are the local bank of choice
we
live and work where our customers need banking assistance.
It's a simple beginning that is at the heart of everything we stand
for today. We're still locally owned - with about 300 shareholders
- most from this area. And we're still the local bank of choice.
In today's world of consolidation, buy-outs and mega-brands, we're
satisfied just being your hometown bank. We enjoy living and working
right here - right alongside the customers who depend on us.
What's more, Farmers & Merchants is just as secure as the big
banks. We are regularly listed among the safest and soundest in
the country by bank analysts Bauer Financial and Sheshunoff.
Farmers & Merchants Bank. Big city capabilities. Small town
service.
A History of Firsts
Other banks give lip service to convenience and service, but Farmers
& Merchants takes action - and we do it first.
We were to first bank in Arkansas County to have:
- a drive-through window
- ATMs
- Telebanc - banking by phone
- Internet bill pay
- overdraft privilege
- totally free checking
- accounts just for seniors
What's It Mean to You? Me Banking.
Our roots and our innovations make it clear: we're all about you.
Whether it's the convenience of 24-hour banking or the peace of
mind of having a line of credit, we'll help you get what you want.
That's Me Banking. At Farmers and Merchants, you can create the
banking experience you desire
from online banking to eight
convenient branch offices. From home equity loans to personal lines
of credit. We have it and can customize it just for you.
